biometric facial recognition systems

In this technological era, biometric facial recognition systems are one of the most important topics to understand their effect on people. It is something that is always at the center of an issue whether it would affect our ethics or our sense of loss of privacy. It does not affect any citizen of a country but to the world also.

HOW IS CHINA’S TAKE IN TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENT-

How we look at China would certainly make a great picture to visualize the current scenario. China is the most advanced country in the world to this date. Its military advancement and infrastructures also give rise to a more advanced feature which is cyber tech. China is best at its biometric facial recognition systems technology which is equivalent to USA technology.

WHAT IS FACIAL RECOGNITION-

First, understand what facial recognition technology is. As with any living creature in this world, we would need a face to recognize them to know or identify who they are. As a citizen of a country, one must always have an identity card which helps other people or mostly authority to know who that person is.

USAGE OF AADHAR CARD IN INDIA-

In India, we have a thing called Aadhar card which we especially use to identify the citizens of that country. The contents of the card include a passport-size photo, phone number, figure print, retina of the eye, and its address. These contents give full information about that person. It is the first step of the facial recognition system at its primitive stage.

ADVANTAGES OF FACIAL RECOGNITION IN A COUNTRY OR WORLD-

Some factors in facial recognition give a country or world some advantages. If we look from a country’s perspective, the government of that country should always have a keen eye to recognize its citizens to prevent any internal or external threats. It helps them identify the person and whether that person is a threat to the country or not.

These types of cards are not only used for facial recognition but also connect to a person’s bank accounts, driving license, and PAN card to track a person’s movement to see whether he or she has some link to a threat in a country in any way possible.

But nowadays facial recognition just scans your face to acquire any data related to you in seconds. Even if we think for a second, as an intelligent person one would find it as a direct threat to the grounds of privacy. Every citizen should have the right to privacy to a certain extent so an authority does not misuse it at any cost.

CHINA’S AUTHORITATIVE STEP TOWARDS ITS CITIZEN-

Look at how China is a country where citizens are being watched by its government every second. They are using facial recognition without their citizens’ consent. Due to their dictatorship rule, facial recognition technology plays a crucial role in controlling their citizens to its full extent. As they do not depend on phone tapping to know what their citizens are doing every second.

FACIAL RECOGNITION’S BENEFITS-

But we can not just overlook its benefits in society as well rather than just look at overall its demerits. Yes, facial recognition helps prevent certain dangers to the world. If we look through some analysis using facial recognition technology, it depends on the governmental structure of a country. Data should go to the governments when it’s important and required.
