Wearable devices technology is a small version of computing devices that are easy to carry anywhere and portable. We can wear it on our wrists, hands, heads, and in any part of the body where it could fit. It is like wearing a piece of jewelry on hand to compute what kind of processing we need to do.
WHERE ARE THE WEARABLE DEVICES BEING USED-
Wearable devices are being increasingly used by people, and this new innovative technology has shown its importance in various sectors. If it’s been used the sector most is fitness. Human beings need to track their fitness while they work out on push-ups, jogging, walking, etc.
It is nowadays being used in entertainment, healthcare, and business with faster processing outputs. In entertainment, it is being widely used with operating systems like Wear OS, Apple Watch OS, Xiaomi, Fitbit OS, Garmin OS, Firefox OS, etc. These operating systems are being widely focused and being used in the field of wearable devices.
HOW DO WEARABLE DEVICES WORK-
Wearable devices work like any other devices such as smartphones, laptops, pc, etc. These devices need some basic attributes to function like microprocessors, and batteries. To process, we just need the internet to compute inputs to provide desired results. Wearable devices have been used from the early times since the innovation of eyeglasses first developed in the 13th century. Now with the internet connection and microchip processors, it is not just about wearing it but also it has gone beyond the perception.
SOME KEY CHALLENGES OF WEARABLES-
Wearable devices are overall useful in major aspects as we read in the above headings. But if we look at its different side, there are several challenges which are being faced by this particular device. One of the main challenges it faces is the battery issue which tends to run for a longer period of time. Wearable devices require effective power management as battery space is limited. So to run for a longer period of time, efficient use of the battery is the key.
Now the second issue would be the ergonomics, as whenever we are wearing any wearable devices we have to make sure that it fits in our body perfectly. Ideally the comfort level for a person should be that it should feel that something is attached to our bodies. This type of comforting can only be achieved through industrial design that experts in fitting shapes and forms through prototype.
The third most common issue would be waterproofing. Like any other electronic devices, circuits can be damaged by just a little drop of water or any other liquid substances. Wearable products are prone to exposure from water and sweat at several occasions- most during showering, washing hands or doing some sports activities. All these conditions require different levels of protection against water entering the devices.
WEARABLE DEVICES ARE EASY TO CARRY(PORTABLE)-
Looking at all the previous headings, we can easily conclude that wearable devices have their own importance according to the situations. It definitely has its benefits and drawbacks but it is useful in health checks, sports, entertainments, communications and many other factors as well.
